Taos Valley Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church that extends a welcome to all. Below you will find our basic beliefs. All Scriptures are from the King James Version of the Bible.

1. We believe all mankind is condemned by sin and that the only way to find forgiveness of that sin is through Jesus Christ.

• "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" - Romans 3:23

2. We believe that the wages of sin is death.

• "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23

3. We believe that all who call upon the name of the Lord can be saved from that death.

• "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." - Romans 10:9-10

4. We believe in the total truth of Scripture

5. We believe the local church is the instrument Christ built to witness to the community and to bring a sense of family and growth to the members.

6. We believe in the Pre-Millennial return of Jesus Christ

7. We believe in the Rapture of believers prior to the Tribulation Period.

8. We believe that Baptism is the first act of obedience in following our Lord’s command but that only the blood of Jesus Christ can wash away the sins of mankind.

9. We believe that salvation is an act of Grace from God in sending His only begotten Son to die on the cross.

• "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

10.  We believe that salvation brings eternal life with God in heaven and brings peace to our lives here on earth.
